Jihye Hur

Jihye Hur was born in Seoul, South Korea. She lived in Korea until the age of 15 and moved to Africa. She started her journey of becoming a graphic designer and a business woman at the University of South Dakota in 2014 and now, she is a senior Graphic Design major and Business Administration minor about to graduate. Her plan is to build a variety of experiences as a freelance graphic designer and a business woman before she has her own company.

Jihye Hur wants to give special thanks to all the professors in the USD Art Department for lifelong lessons, especially professors Young Ae Kim, Cory Knedler, and Qiuwen Li.


Artist Statement

Trends always exist where people live. It has been a way people interact with others and visible evidence of the interaction. As a graphic designer, it is important to listen to the clients and create designs that accurately represent their products or services. By observing and understanding the importance of the design trends, you can design smarter and have more informed artistic choices to satisfy your clients’ needs. That said, this body of work covers the seven latest design trends that evolved in 2017. Each work represents each trending graphic design style embodied with mostly well known types of images.
