Abstract

Utilizing grounded theory, we examine how context affects how legislation is put into practice around sexual assault kits. Interviewing law enforcement, politicians, attorneys, health care professionals, and others, we find a series of issues related to legislation on payment, storage, and processing that can impact victim's access to justice. This presentation will summarize these findings and discuss next steps.
