Abstract
COVID-19 has been prevalent worldwide since early 2020 with approximately 2.5 million deaths worldwide [1]. AI-driven tools can be used to help detect COVID-19 and other similar diseases in medical images, such as chest X-rays (CXRs) [2, 3] . In this project, we implement custom Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to detect COVID-19 in CXRs. This will allow a future exploration of the characteristics of a more successful network for COVID-19 detection and how that applies to other diseases that we have more information on.
